Emergency and Protective Services
The County of Barrhead is a member of the 911 emergency services system -- 24 hour operators will connect emergency calls to fire, ambulance and police services. The Town and County have a joint emergency response center located in the Industrial Park within the Town of Barrhead (4635 - 61 Avenue).
The Barrhead region is served by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Barrhead Detachment. For general inquiries and information call 780-674-4848: for emergencies call 911.
Associated Ambulance Services provides ground ambulance services to our community. A Helipad is in operation at the Barrhead Healthcare Center (Hospital) which allows helicopter patient transfers.
Barrhead Fire Services
The municipal governments of the Town and County of Barrhead partner to provide fire/rescue services to the region. This regional fire/rescue service operates out of the Emergency Response Centre located in the Town of Barrhead. For emergencies call 911.
The Fire Authority provides many other services, including fire prevention/public education, loss prevention inspection, investigations and public relations. The Fire Authority endeavors to provide the best possible service to the region and encourages everyone to practice fire prevention and safety at home, work, and play.
The County of Barrhead Emergency Management Agency responds to peacetime emergencies affecting the County of Barrhead. The County subscribes to the Edmonton Region Emergency Public Warning System.
