The County of Barrhead is served by a regional landfill site and transfer sites which are conveniently located throughout the County for residents.
Barrhead Regional Landfill Site
Location: SW 3-60-4-W5
Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Used Oil Depositing: Thursdays Only, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Closed - Sundays, Mondays and Statutory Holidays
Fees are charged for disposal of demolition and industrial waste materials at the Regional Landfill Site, including, but not limited to cement, stumps, and any other non-burnable materials. A recycling station is located within the Town of Barrhead at the Public Works yard located at 4406 62A Ave. As well, a recycling station is located at the Regional Landfill. Materials accepted include: flattened cardboard, paper, No. 1, & No. 2 plastics, and tin cans. Plastics can be identified by looking on the bottom of the container for a small triangle with a number inside the triangle. There is also an oil recycling station at the Regional Landfill, and drop off times are on Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Containers can be emptied into the receptacle, and used containers and pails can be left for pick up if no longer needed.
