Each year, County of Barrhead Public Works undertakes many maintenance projects. This includes maintenance of County facilities like pump stations and the Barrhead Regional Airport, operation of a repair shop for all municipal equipment, and maintenance of many public services such as:
- Roadway maintenance including grading, snow plowing, and winter sanding
- Mowing grass and brushing County roadways
- Repairs to pavement and asphalt surfaces
- Line painting on paved roadways
- Re-graveling existing graveled roads
- Application of dust control treatments
- Installation and maintenance of signs, barriers, and other traffic control devices
- Roadway controls such as weight restrictions and road use agreements
- Road reconstruction
