2021 Shelterbelt Tree Program

Every year, the County of Barrhead offers residents a chance to buy a variety of shelterbelt trees. The Shelterbelt Program commences January 4th, 2021.
This program offers many benefits, including decreasing soil erosion, reducing wind damage to crops, increasing pollinator ands wildlife habitats, improve safety in winter travel due to reduced snow drifting and much more.

NOTE: Tree orders will be secured once payment is received. We strongly encourage the use of online banking, e-transfer (payments@countybarrhead.ab.ca) or mailed cheques. To discuss payment options, please call the County Office at 780-674-3331.
Shelterbelt Trees will be available mid-May; however, a County staff member will phone once the trees arrive to arrange pick-up.
