PUBLIC HEARING: Bylaw 2-2026 - Feb 3, 2026
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with Section 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Council of the County of Barrhead requests public input on:
Bylaw No. 2-2026 - Amend Land Use Bylaw 4-2024
The purpose of this bylaw is to amend the Land Use Bylaw to add "Data Processing Facility" as a Discretionary Use in the Agricultural Land Use District.
Therefore, a public hearing to consider the proposed bylaw will be held:
- Date: 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 3, 2026

A copy of the proposed bylaw may be reviewed at the County of Barrhead office during regular business hours, or via the link below. For more information, contact Development Officer Layne Mullen at 780-674-3331.
Participating at the Public Hearing:
Any person claiming to be
affected by the Bylaw may provide a written submission or give a verbal
presentation at the public hearing. Individuals wishing to present at the public hearing are requested to provide advance notice to the County of Barrhead, as outlined below.

- Any person interested in speaking at the hearing should register by noon (12:00 PM) on Monday, February 2, 2026. To register, call 780-674-3331 or email info@countybarrhead.ab.ca.
- You may also identify your wish to speak on the day of the hearing. However, individuals pre-registered to speak will be heard first.
- If you prefer, you can participate by submitting your comments in writing to info@countybarrhead.ab.ca or in-person/mailed to the County office.
- Written submissions received by noon (12:00 PM) on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, will be included in the public agenda package distributed to Council and posted on the County website. Written submissions received after this deadline will be read into the hearing.
- Individuals who submit a written statement may only speak at the hearing on new information not contained in their written statement.
- Any person making a submission is required to provide their name for the record.
- Presentations are limited to 5 minutes per person.
