County of Barrhead sells pitrun, sand, and crushed gravel to ratepayers for personal use. Aggregate materials must be used exclusively for domestic purposes, and stockpiling or resale of materials is prohibited.
New in 2024, County of Barrhead will no longer offer hauling services for private gravel purchases. Residents can still purchase gravel, but they must arrange for the own transportation to haul the product. Also note that only approved gravel trucks can be loaded at the gravel pits (pickup trucks or utility trailers will not suffice).
Product Costs:
Gravel: $15.00/yard, plus aggregate levy of $0.32/yard
Pitrun: $6.00/yard, plus aggregate levy of $0.32/yard
Sand: $1.00/yard, plus aggregate levy of $0.38/yard
Pre-payment is required, and payment must be received at least 24 hours prior to collection of material.
