The Barrhead Johnson Airport is located southwest of the Town of Barrhead, and offers many amenities for aviation business and aircraft operators. The Airport maintains Transport Canada certification.
This airport services governmental travel, medical evacuations, search and rescue operations, RCMP transfers, training, industry, agriculture, and recreation, with an estimated 300 annual aircraft movements. Our airport brings many economic and recreational benefits to the Barrhead community!

Facilities and Equipment:
Barrhead Johnson Airport offers a 3,500 foot runway and is an all-weather facility. The airport terminal and pilot's lounge is accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Inside, there is access to washrooms, a seating area and beverages. Contact information for local cab companies and restaurants are available on the bulletin board inside the lounge.
The airport is equipped with an AWOS (automated weather observation system) which can be reached at 780-674-2613. Lighting includes ARCAL (Frequency 123.2) runway identification lights, TE threshold and runway end lights (medium intensity), and one illuminated windsock. The airport is also fitted with a Wide Area Augmentation System (GPS).

Barrhead Johnson Airport is located next door to the Barrhead Golf and Country Club, one of the top rated 18-hole golf courses in Alberta. Whether it be for a round of golf or a bite to eat, the club will gladly pick you up at the airport with a golf cart. Just call and let them know you are there. Alternately, the clubhouse is a just quick walk from the runway.
