Being a member of Council is a challenging and rewarding experience. This is your opportunity to have your voice heard and represent the best interests of the residents of the County of Barrhead. If elected as a member of Council, you will have the opportunity to help shape the future of your municipality.

Nominations:
To be nominated as a candidate, you must submit the following:
- Nomination Paper & Candidate's Acceptance Form (LAEA Form 4)
- Candidate Information Form (LAEA Form 5)
- $100 deposit via cash, certified cheque, money order, or debit (per Bylaw 24-95)
Nominations for Council will be accepted by the Returning Officer as follows:
- Nominations open: 8:00 AM, January 2, 2025
- Nominations close: 12:00 PM, September 22, 2025
- Must be received in-person by the Returning Officer (faxes or digital copies not accepted)
- Drop off nomination forms at County of Barrhead Office (5306-49 St, Barrhead)
If a candidate wishes to withdrawal nomination papers, contact the County of Barrhead Returning Officer before nomination period closes for more information.
